The Elmira Sugar Kings, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Elmira and clinched a 3-1 victory. The Sugar Kings led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. Sonnenburg scored on the power play 17:33 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Elmira. The Sugar Kings earned a power play opportunity when Brett Brophy(APJ) was put in the box for tripping. Scott Nagy provided the assist. Elmira additionally got points from Michael Hasson, who also registered one goal and two assists.
