Pearce's goals lift Cambridge to 3-1 victory over Guelph

Brennon Pearce was all over the ice for the Cambridge Winter Hawks, as he tallied two goals in Cambridge's 3-1 win over the Guelph Hurricanes.

Pearce found the back of the net on the power play 3:06 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Cambridge and again while 19:28 into the third to make the score 3-1 Cambridge.

The win by the Winter Hawks clinched the best of seven series at 2-4.

Cambridge excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Winter Hawks kept Guelph's goalie busy throughout the game, and Colin Furlong made 40 saves on 43 shots.

Cambridge also got a goal from Cody Gratton as well. More assists for Cambridge came via Trevor Hache, Darcy Meyer, Brock Campbell, and Brandon Zimmerman, who each chipped in one.

The Hurricanes were led by Mitch Klie, who scored the team's only goal. Klie scored 17:47 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Cambridge. Mike Iacocca provided the assist.

Brendan Gorecki rejected 22 shots on goal for Cambridge. The Winter Hawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Guelph incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
