Huge game by Komasara boosts Port Colborne over Stoney Creek, 9-2

Bryan Komasara was all over the ice for the Port Colborne Pirates, as he tallied one goal and three assists in Port Colborne's 9-2 win over the Stoney Creek Warriors.

Komasara got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 3:15 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Port Colborne. The Pirates had gained a power play chance when Harry Polyoka was whistled for checking from behind. James Tyminski provided the assist. Komasara dished an assist on Jordan Warren's goal that made the score 1-0 Port Colborne at 1:08 into the first period. He then added assists on Dayne Phillips' goal at 9:28 into the second and on Charlie Izaguirre's goal at 2:12 into the third.

The win by Port Colborne clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

Stoney Creek's six penalties came back to haunt it, as the Warriors let up five goals while on the penalty kill.

The Pirates forced Stoney Creek's goalies to work between the pipes, launching 46 shots and forcing 37 saves. Joe Lepera made 19 stops and Brock Novak made 18. Port Colborne could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Port Colborne also got points from Carson Minor, who also grabbed one goal and four assists. Jordan Ryan also scored for Port Colborne. More assists for Port Colborne came via Nick Schiro, who had two and Evan Huckalo and Dima Lavrenov, who contributed one a piece.

The Warriors made the Pirates' goaltenders to work all game long, taking 40 shots and forcing 38 saves. Real Cormier made 23 stops and Morgan Hudson made 15.

Stoney Creek was led by Myles Falasca, who registered one goal and one assist. Falasca scored on the power play 10:57 into the third period to make the score 9-2 Port Colborne. A slashing penalty on Tyminski had put the Warriors on the power play. Joseph Monticchio picked up the assist. Stoney Creek also got a goal from Roger Sherwood as well. In addition, Stoney Creek received assists from Mike Casale, who had one.

Stoney Creek totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. Team's Tyler VanKleef and Polyoka were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
