Zach DeConcilys netted a hat trick to lead the Port Colborne Pirates over the Stoney Creek Warriors, 7-1. DeConcilys got on the scoresheet 5:42 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:04 into the second and at 13:56 into the second.After the loss made the series score 1-3 in the best of seven series, Stoney Creek faces elimination next time out. Port Colborne was led by goalie Real Cormier, who finished with 33 saves while allowing one goal. Cormier managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.29 prior to the game. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 8:17 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Pirates stifled the Warriors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Port Colborne was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes. Port Colborne additionally got points from Dayne Phillips, who also tallied one goal and two assists and James Tyminski, who also registered one goal and three assists. Damien Lalonde also scored for Port Colborne. Other players who recorded assists for Port Colborne were Evan Huckalo, who had two and Patrick Murphy, Jordan Ryan, Zoran Popel, Jordan Warren, and Dima Lavrenov, who contributed one a piece. The Pirates were unable to stop Stoney Creek from sending pucks towards the net, and the Warriors eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Stoney Creek's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Warriors finished with 36 penalty minutes. Port Colborne registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. For the Pirates, Nick Schiro and Mark Lucatra were ejected from the contest. Joe Lepera made 19 saves for Stoney Creek on 26 shots. The Warriors registered zero goals on six power play opportunities. Team's Brandon Vuic and Luke Nogard were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
