Behind a great game by Ryan Wiley, who had one goal and three assists, the Niagara Falls Canucks defeated the Fort Erie Meteors, 5-2. Wiley got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 2:50 into the third period to make the score 5-1 Niagara Falls. Vito Scaringi picked up the assist. Wiley dished an assist on Cam Stewart's goal that made the score 1-0 Niagara Falls at 5:40 into the first period. He then added assists on Garrett Gallardi's goal at 18:45 into the second and on Sloan Stewart's goal at 1:38 into the third.The win moved Niagara Falls to down 2-0 in the best of seven series. Fort Erie's power play was ineffective against the Canucks' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 8:38 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Niagara Falls was hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled nine minors and one major for 43 minutes in penalty time. The Canucks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. Marcus Quinlin also scored for Niagara Falls. In addition, Niagara Falls received assists from Drew Berkel, who had two and Brad Kri, Jake Noel, and Johnny Curran, who each chipped in one. The Meteors were often in penalty trouble, as it ended with six minors and two majors for 32 minutes in penalty time. Fort Erie got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. The Meteors were helped by Jonathan England, who grabbed one goal. England scored on the power play 11:59 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Fort Erie had gotten the advantage when Niagara Falls' Stewart was sent off for high sticking. Niagara Falls registered four goals on nine power play opportunities. Team's Kri, Peter Hermenegildo, and Stewart were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Matt Stuart made 22 saves for the Meteors on 27 shots. For Fort Erie, Mike Boles, Cameron Fairgrieve, and Denis Creighton were ejected from the contest.
