Andrews leads St. Catharines over Buffalo, 14-0

Behind a great game by Johnson Andrews, who had two goals and three assists, the St. Catharines Falcons defeated the Buffalo Jr. Blades, 14-0.

Andrews scored at 19:32 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Catharines and again while 1:48 into the third to make the score 10-0 St. Catharines.

The win by St. Catharines clinched the best of seven series at 0-4.

Buffalo was unable to stop the Falcons from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Catharines eventually piled up 58 shots on goal. The Falcons did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

St. Catharines additionally got points from Nick Hovanessian, who also had one goal and one assist, Kyle Woodhouse, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Riley Jakobschuk, who also registered two goals and two assists, Andy Sturtz, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Ben Dubois, who also had three goals and one assist. Tyler Jackson also scored for St. Catharines. More assists for St. Catharines came via Aaron Taylor, who had four, Andrew Darrigo and Spencer DeWolfe, who contributed one a piece, and Jesse Miller and Luke Karaim, who each chipped in two.

Brad Pope made 23 saves for St. Catharines on 23 shots. The Falcons registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Ian Shorthouse rejected 44 shots on goal for the Jr. Blades. Buffalo incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
