EV Füssen downs EHC Klostersee in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

EV Füssen pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over EHC Klostersee on a clutch goal by Sascha Golts.

After the loss made the series score 0-2 in the best of five series, EHC Klostersee faces elimination next time out.

Although EV Füssen was up by as many as two goals in the second period, EHC Klostersee kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. EHC Klostersee got to within 3-2 on a goal by Raphael Kaefer at 10:56 in the third period.

EV Füssen put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow EHC Klostersee to score on any of its three power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

EV Füssen also got a goal from Sebastian Wolsch as well. In addition, EV Füssen received assists from Ruslan Bezshchasnyi, who had two, Andrej Naumann, who had three, and Daniel (FL) Schmölz, Benjamin Kronawitter, Yannik (FL) Baier, and Eric Nadeau, who each chipped in one.

EHC Klostersee found itself short handed often, totaling 16 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

EHC Klostersee was helped by Ryan Guentzel, who had two goals and one assist. Guentzel scored the first of his two goals at 42 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Patrick White provided the assist. Guentzel's next tally made the score 4-4 with 42 seconds left in the third period. Mario Jann picked up the assist. More assists for EHC Klostersee came via Andreas Paderhuber, who had two and Bernd Rische and Dominik Unverzagt, who contributed one a piece.

EV Füssen incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
