Huge game by Miller boosts Junior Bruins over New England Huskies, 5-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Matt Penta helped the Junior Bruins Junior Bruins defeat New England Huskies, 5-1.

The win gave Junior Bruins a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Chris Miller was all over the ice for the Junior Bruins, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Miller scored 3:44 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Junior Bruins. Cam Carbone assisted on the tally.

Junior Bruins made New England Huskies' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 44 shots and forcing 39 saves. John Miller made 29 stops and Brian Tomzcyk made 10. The Junior Bruins put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow New England Huskies to score on any of its five power plays.

Junior Bruins also got points from Conor Garland, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Tyler Warila, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Jack Eichel also scored for Junior Bruins. In addition, Junior Bruins received assists from Josh Couturier, who had two and Ty Zampitella and Mac Cook, who each chipped in one.

New England Huskies kept Junior Bruins' goalie busy throughout the game, and Penta made 35 saves on 36 shots.

New England Huskies was led by Kurt Johnson, who scored the team's only goal. Johnson scored 3:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 New England Huskies. Brendan Flanagan provided the assist.

The Junior Bruins incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. New England Huskies incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
