Junior Bruins beats Bay State Breakers 6-3 as Cook gets hat trick

Mac Cook netted a hat trick to lead the Junior Bruins Junior Bruins over the Bay State Breakers Breakers, 6-3.

Cook notched his first tally 7:35 into the second period. He then added goals at 14:20 into the second and at 9:33 into the third.

The win gave Junior Bruins a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

The Junior Bruins excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Junior Bruins' offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 45 shots put on Bay State Breakers' net.

Junior Bruins additionally got points from Chris Miller, who also had one goal and two assists and Tyler Warila, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Cam Carbone also scored for Junior Bruins. More assists for Junior Bruins came via Chris Vicario, who had one and Conor Garland, who had three.

The Breakers were helped by Ryan ODonnell, who tallied one goal. ODonnell scored 15:11 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Junior Bruins. Brendan Kirk assisted on the tally. Bay State Breakers got a goal from Alan Boozer as well. In addition, Bay State Breakers received assists from Devon Flynn, Henry Nelson, Christopher Duffy, and Sean Daly, who contributed one each.

The Junior Bruins' Matt Penta stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Junior Bruins incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jake Berry made 39 saves for Bay State Breakers on 44 shots. The Breakers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
