Trenton falls to Kingston in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Kingston Voyageurs pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Trenton Golden Hawks on a clutch goal by Brett Du Puy.

The win by Kingston clinched the best of seven series at 2-4.

The Voyageurs' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Kingston also got points from Brian Nanne, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Brandon O Quinn, who also registered one goal and one assist, Matt Eddy, who also had one goal and one assist, and Ludlow Harris, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Kingston came via Chad Duchesne, Greg Trichilo, Steve McParland, David McMullen, Michael Schug, and Casey Cook, who each chipped in one.

Kingston was unable to stop Trenton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Golden Hawks eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Trenton was led by Josh Sidwell, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Sidwell scored on the power play 19:44 into the first period to make the score 2-2. A boarding penalty on Schug had put the Golden Hawks on the power play. Trenton also got a goal from Shawn Hulshof as well. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Steve Pintaric, who had one and Miles MacLean, who had two.

Charlie Finn rejected 37 shots on goal for the Voyageurs. Kingston incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Trenton's Spencer Finney stopped 24 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Golden Hawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
