Trenton outlasts Kingston, 3-2

The Trenton Golden Hawks gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Kingston Voyageurs.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Michael Radisa secured the win for Trenton with a goal in the third period.

After the loss made the series score 2-3 in the best of seven series, Kingston faces elimination next time out.

The Golden Hawks got the win on the strength of a great game by Radisa, who had two goals and one assist. Radisa scored the first of his two goals at 13:59 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Spencer MacCormack provided the assist. Radisa's next tally made the score 3-2 Trenton with 5:14 left in the third period. Randy Gazzola assisted on the tally.

Trenton pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 38 penalty minutes.

The Voyageurs were unable to stop the Golden Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Trenton eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Trenton also got points from Radisa, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Krystian Yorke, who also had one goal and two assists. In addition, Trenton received assists from Andrew Parks, who had one.

Kingston's offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 43 shots put on the Golden Hawks' net. The Voyageurs were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to one goal off of 10 man advantages.

Kingston was helped by Ludlow Harris, who finished with one goal. Harris scored 2:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. Michael Schug provided the assist. Kingston got a goal from Steve McParland as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Chad Duchesne, David McMullen, and Casey Cook, who each chipped in one.

Trenton's Spencer Finney stopped 41 shots out of the 43 that he faced. The Golden Hawks registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. Charlie Finn made 32 saves for the Voyageurs on 35 shots. Kingston incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
