Little Britain downs Clarington in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Mitch Phinney gave the Little Britain Merchants a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Clarington Eagles when he scored 2:24 into the extra period.

After the loss made the series score 2-3 in the best of seven series, Clarington faces elimination next time out.

Little Britain was led by Phinney, who tallied one goal.

Jessie Mallette also scored for Little Britain. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Curtis Lee, Kurtis Moore, and Paul Hennessey, who contributed one a piece.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

The Eagles were helped by Dylan Howorko, who racked up one goal. Howorko scored on the power play 6:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Clarington. Clarington had taken the advantage when the Merchants' T.J. Doran got sent off for cross checking. Brock Ackerman picked up the assist. Clarington also got a goal from Mike Grifoni as well. More assists for Clarington came via Collin McGillis, Cody Graham, and Brad Down, who each chipped in one.

Little Britain incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Eagles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
