The Little Britain Merchants and the Clarington Eagles were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Little Britain made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Greg ONeil secured the win for the Merchants with a goal in the second period. The win gave Little Britain a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Merchants' penalty kill excelled, as Little Britain gave up one goal despite allowing 13 power plays. The Merchants were sparked by Dan Longfield, who tallied one goal and one assist. Longfield scored 11:40 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Little Britain. T.J. Doran picked up the assist. Little Britain's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Merchants finished with 32 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Curtis Lee, who totaled 12 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one misconduct. Little Britain additionally got points from Doran, who also had one goal and one assist and Longfield, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mitch Phinney also scored for Little Britain. More assists for Little Britain came via Patrick Hamilton, Mitch Thurston, and Neil Pittock, who each chipped in one. Clarington was helped by Brad Down, who finished with one goal. Down scored on the power play 14:29 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Little Britain. The Eagles had gained a power play chance when Doran was whistled for cross checking. Brock Ackerman provided the assist. Clarington got a goal from Collin McGillis as well. In addition, Clarington received assists from Jake Choiniere and Courtland Black-Araujo, who contributed one each. Little Britain registered one goal on two power play opportunities. The Merchants ran into disciplinary problems during the contest, and Doran was ejected from the game. Clarington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
