Tommy Sumi had two goals and one assist to lead the St. Michaels Buzzers to a 4-1 victory over the Toronto Junior Canadiens. Sumi found the back of the net 2:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels and again while short handed 10:18 into the first to make the score 2-0 St. Michaels.After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Toronto faces elimination next time out. The Junior Canadiens were stymied by St. Michaels netminder Adrian Ignagni, who stopped 30 shots during the victory. The solid play of Ignagni will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.02. The Buzzers stifled Toronto's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Michaels forced the Junior Canadiens goalie Jamie Phillips to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. The Buzzers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. Anthony Rizzo also scored for St. Michaels. More assists for St. Michaels came via Mark Cooper, who had four and Erlich Doerksen, David Italiano, and Tom Haley, who each chipped in one. Toronto's offense rang up 31 shots on St. Michaels' net. The Junior Canadiens struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays. Toronto was led by Jordan Ramsay, who scored the team's only goal. Ramsay scored 18:58 into the first period to make the score 2-1 St. Michaels. Matt Galati assisted on the tally. Phillips rejected 45 shots on goal for the Junior Canadiens. Toronto registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
