Huge game by Galati boosts Toronto over St. Michaels, 5-2

The Toronto Junior Canadiens' Matt Galati had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the St. Michaels Buzzers.

Galati's tallies came on the power play at 13:04 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Toronto and 18:04 into the third to make the score 4-2 Toronto.

The win by Toronto broke a deadlock and gave the Junior Canadiens a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Toronto excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Junior Canadiens kept St. Michaels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Adrian Ignagni made 28 saves on 33 shots.

Toronto also got points from Peter Kazakis, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Matt Carey, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Joseph Santino, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Toronto came via David Friedmann, who had three and Michael Whiteside, Mike Mirabelli, and Bryson Cianfrone, who each chipped in one.

The Buzzers forced Toronto goalie Jamie Phillips to work between the pipes, taking 56 shots.

St. Michaels was helped by Braedan Russell, who had one goal. Russell scored 4:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels. Daniel Milne provided the assist. Anthony Rizzo also scored for St. Michaels. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Joseph Luongo, Erlich Doerksen, and Michael Neville, who contributed one a piece.

Jamie Phillips made 54 saves for the Junior Canadiens on 56 shots. Toronto incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Buzzers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
