Toronto holds on for 2-1 win against St. MichaelsChesswood Arena Sat, Feb 25, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Toronto Junior Canadiens survived a determined comeback attempt by the St. Michaels Buzzers on the way to a 2-1 win. A goal by Jordan Ramsay put Toronto up 2-0 in the second period, but St. Michaels pulled to within one on Mark Cooper's tally 19:03 into the third period. With the win, the Junior Canadiens evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown. Toronto was led by goalie Jamie Phillips, who finished with 47 saves while allowing one goal. Phillips managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.99 prior to the game. Bryson Cianfrone also scored for Toronto. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto were Daniel Lombardi and Joseph Santino, who each chipped in one. The Buzzers forced the Junior Canadiens goalie Phillips to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. More assists for St. Michaels came via Daniel Milne and Tommy Sumi, who contributed one a piece. Toronto incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Adrian Ignagni recorded 22 saves for St. Michaels. The Buzzers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
