Racine leads Georgetown to shutout victory over Burlington

The Georgetown Raiders used a sparkling performance by Steven Racine to take down the Burlington Cougars, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Georgetown's 3-0 shutout victory.

The win gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Georgetown was paced by Tyson Fawcett, who racked up one goal and one assist. Fawcett scored short handed 1:06 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown.

The Raiders put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Burlington to score on any of its three power plays. Georgetown kept the Cougars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Murray made 40 saves on 43 shots.

Georgetown got a goal from Jake Emilio as well. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Conor McLoughlin, Matt Chiarantano, and Jacob Bauchman, who each chipped in one.

Burlington's offense operated below it season average. The Cougars put an average of two pucks into the net per game.

Racine turned away 26 pucks between the pipes for the Raiders. Georgetown incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Burlington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
