Finch leads Stouffville over Aurora, 5-2Aurora Community Centre Tue, Feb 28, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Stouffville Spirit's Christian Finch had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 5-2 win over the Aurora Tigers. Finch got on the board by slotting home a goal 17:17 into the second period to make the score 5-1 Stouffville. Paul Geiger picked up the assist. Finch dished an assist on Chris Porter's goal that made the score 1-0 Stouffville at 5:05 into the first period. He then added assists on Porter's goal at 9:32 into the first and on Alex Botten's goal at 3:17 into the second.After the loss made the series score 1-3 in the best of seven series, Aurora faces elimination next time out. Stouffville made the most of it opportunities with a man advantage, slotting home three goals while the Tigers were on the penalty kill. Christian Powers also scored for Stouffville. In addition, Stouffville received assists from Josh Chapman and Michael Robinson, who contributed one a piece. Aurora was led by Nick Angelo, who finished with one goal and one assist. Angelo scored on the power play 18:18 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Stouffville. The Tigers had gained a power play chance when Matthew Heffernan was whistled for holding. Adam Moody provided the assist. Aurora also got a goal from Evan Fong as well. More assists for Aurora came via Eric Bouchard, who had one. Knick Dawe rejected 26 shots on goal for the Spirit. Stouffville incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kevin Entmaa took the loss and made 10 saves before being replaced by Brett Sinclair who made eight saves. Aurora incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
