Wisconsin falls to Ft. Wayne in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Ft. Wayne Federals' Tyler Mason scored 5:38 into overtime to beat the Wisconsin Rampage, 4-3 (OT).

The win by Ft. Wayne clinched the best of three series at 2-0.

The Federals came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Ft. Wayne was down 3-1 after a goal by Wisconsin's Robert Smythe at 12:56 in the second period. The Federals knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Mason at 9:59 in the third period.

Mason had a great game for Ft. Wayne, netting two goals.

The Federals put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Rampage to score on any of their four power plays. Ft. Wayne's offense rang up 41 shots on Wisconsin's net.

Ft. Wayne also got a goal from Tyler Teglia as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ft. Wayne were Spencer Johnson, Ian Harris, Brendan Lewis, and Nicholas Denice, who contributed one a piece.

The Rampage made Federals' netminders to work without much rest, taking 32 shots and forcing 29 saves. Jesse Weitzel made 12 stops and Dustin Buchanan made 17.

Wisconsin was helped by Thomas Tambourine, who grabbed one goal. Tambourine scored 5:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wisconsin. Braden Smith provided the assist. Cameron Montalvo also scored for Wisconsin. In addition, Wisconsin received assists from Ryan Rinko and Christopher Wachal, who each chipped in one.

The Federals incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kyle Weiner recorded 37 saves for the Rampage. Wisconsin incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
