The Michigan Ice Dogs, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Michigan and clinched a 6-4 victory. The Ice Dogs led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Michigan's Jaymes Kastely's scored on the power play at 15:13 in the second period to put the Ice Dogs up 5-2. After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, the Wooster Oliers face elimination next time out. Aric Bergermann had two goals and one assist to lead Michigan. Bergermann scored the first of his two goals at 8:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Michigan. John Deal assisted on the tally. Bergermann's next tally made the score 2-1 Michigan with 16:24 left in the second period. Hunter Ledgerwood provided the assist. The Ice Dogs kept Wooster's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alexander Batson made 42 saves on 48 shots. Michigan could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. Michigan also got points from Ashton Guy, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Jeffrey Barton also scored for Michigan. In addition, Michigan received assists from Alexander Stewart, who had one and Tyler Textor, who had two. The Ice Dogs were unable to stop the Oliers from sending pucks towards the net, and Wooster eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. The Oliers' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Wooster finished with 31 penalty minutes. The Oliers were helped by Joshua Ybarra, who tallied one goal. Ybarra scored 3:48 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Michigan. William Blanset picked up the assist. Wooster also got a goal from Joshua Turkaly as well. More assists for Wooster came via Kyle Althen, Ian Reffert, Preston Hagerman, and Clay Jarrell, who each chipped in one. Matthew Schnoes made 28 saves for Michigan on 32 shots. The Ice Dogs registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Wooster registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For the Oliers, Blanset was ejected from the game.
