Chicago rolls over Central Wisconsin, 6-2

The Central Wisconsin Saints had trouble finding ways to stop the Chicago Jr Bulldogs, which beat Saints, 6-2.

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Central Wisconsin faces elimination next time out.

Matthew Soukup had one goal and two assists to lead Chicago. Soukup scored 10:49 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Chicago. Peter Jorgensen assisted on the tally.

The Jr Bulldogs' offense rang up 41 shots on the Saints' net. Chicago could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

Luke Morin also scored for Chicago. In addition, Chicago received assists from Michael Maines and Vittorio Bruno, who contributed one a piece.

Central Wisconsin kept the Jr Bulldogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Joseph Lennox made 29 saves on 31 shots. The Saints struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays.

Central Wisconsin was led by Kyle Harnish, who grabbed two goals. Harnish scored the first of his two goals at 8:51 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Harnish's next tally made the score 6-2 Chicago with 7:54 left in the third period. The Saints had gotten the advantage when Chicago's Daniel Doyle was sent off for tripping. Joseph Mitch provided the assist.

Stephen Salek made 35 saves for Central Wisconsin on 41 shots. The Saints registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
