Orton's big game bests Amherstview in 6-3 Campbellford win

Nick Orton had two goals and one assist to lead the Campbellford Rebels to a 6-3 victory over the Amherstview Jets.

Orton's tallies came at 15:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Campbellford and 8:31 into the third to make the score 4-2 Campbellford.

The win by Campbellford clinched the best of seven series at 4-3.

The Rebels kept Amherstview's goalie busy throughout the game, and Zach DeSousa made 29 saves on 35 shots.

Campbellford also got points from Ryan Crowley, who also finished with two goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Levi George, who also had one goal and two assists. Josh Adams also scored for Campbellford. In addition, Campbellford received assists from Steven Clarke, Connor Turland, and Andrew Doxtator, who each chipped in one.

The Jets were helped by Liam Vanburen, who registered one goal. Vanburen scored on the power play 5:42 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Campbellford. Amherstview had gotten the advantage when Campbellford's Tyler McKown was sent off for high sticking. Brandon Gilmour assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Amherstview included Isaac DeSousa and Jordan Davison, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstview were Dustin Kennedy and Brody Taylor, who contributed one each.

Jesse Labrecque made 25 saves for the Rebels on 28 shots. Campbellford incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Jets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
