The Campbellford Rebels tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Amherstview Jets held on for a 3-2 victory. Amherstview took a 3-1 lead during the second period, only to have Campbellford storm back on a Justin Crowley goal 2:46 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The win gave the Jets a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Rebels' power play was ineffective against Amherstview's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Jets could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Nic Pascoal, who totaled 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one misconduct. Amherstview was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of 11 man advantages. The Jets were helped by Wade Gordon, who racked up one goal. Gordon scored on the power play 8:40 into the second period to make the score Amherstview. A slashing penalty on Steven Clarke had put Amherstview on the power play. Brandon Gilmour assisted on the tally. Amherstview got a goal from Isaac DeSousa as well. More assists for Amherstview came via Liam Vanburen and Jake Hulton, who each chipped in one. Campbellford's offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 49 shots put on the Jets' net. The Rebels were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 34 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Tyler McKown, who totaled 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one misconduct. Lucas Hooley also scored for Campbellford. In addition, Campbellford received assists from Ryan Crowley, Nick Orton, Josh Adams, and Seamus McDougall, who contributed one each. Zach DeSousa turned away 47 pucks between the pipes for Amherstview. Jesse Labrecque made 24 saves for Campbellford on 27 shots.
