Reinhardt stymies Hanover, Mitchell wins 2-1

Drew Reinhardt stood on his head and made 32 saves to lead the Mitchell Hawks to a 2-1 victory over the Hanover Barons.

The win by Mitchell broke a deadlock and gave the Hawks a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Mitchell pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes.

Both teams had a hard time staying out of the box, and they combined for 19 penalties during the game.

The Hawks were helped by Tyler Egerdee, who had one goal. Egerdee scored 18:58 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Mitchell. Tyler Masson assisted on the tally. Ryan Magagnin also scored for Mitchell. More assists for Mitchell came via Jalen Aitcheson and Brent Rae, who contributed one each.

Mitchell got a goal from Magagnin as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mitchell were.

Hanover excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Barons could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Hanover puts an average of three pucks into the net per game. Mitchell was unable to stop the Barons from sending pucks towards the net, and Hanover eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Barons could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Jason Demetrius, who totaled eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.

Hanover stifled the Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Barons were led by Brad Pitt, who scored the team's only goal. Pitt scored on the power play 1:13 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Hanover. Hanover had taken the advantage when Mitchell's Nick Tybik got sent off for boarding. Robbie Moe picked up the assist.

Mitch Campbell recorded 25 saves for Hanover. The Barons registered one goal on 10 power play opportunities.
