Toronto Lakeshore rips Pickering, 6-1

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots were firing on all cylinders against the Pickering Panthers, and when the final buzzer sounded Patriots emerged with a 6-1 win.

After the loss made the series score 2-1 in the best of five series, Pickering faces elimination next time out.

Toronto Lakeshore's Joseph Pianta was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 27 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Pianta will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.33.

Kyle Dutra was all over the ice for the Patriots, as he racked up two goals in the win. Dutra found the back of the net short handed 9:38 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Toronto Lakeshore and again while on the power play 12:49 into the third to make the score 6-0 Toronto Lakeshore.

Toronto Lakeshore forced Panthers' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 48 shots and forcing 42 saves. Spencer Bacon made 32 stops and Elan Baker made 10. The Patriots' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Pickering power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Toronto Lakeshore stifled the Panthers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

James De Haas also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Dylan Carter, Brandon Willett, James Ryan, Matt Buckles, and Nikolaj Bendsen, who each chipped in one and Daniel Tedesco and Robbie Murden, who contributed two each.

Toronto Lakeshore got a goal from De Haas as well. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Lakeshore were.

Pickering could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Michael Mastrangelo, who totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one misconduct.

The Panthers were led by Dylan Hutton, who scored the team's only goal. Hutton scored 19:05 into the third period to make the score 6-1 Toronto Lakeshore.

Pickering was led by Hutton, who scored the team's only goal.

The Patriots incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.

Toronto Lakeshore registered three goals on 10 power play opportunities.
