Kingston holds on for 4-2 win against Wellington

The Kingston Voyageurs survived a determined comeback attempt by the Wellington Dukes on the way to a 4-2 win.

Kingston made the score 4-1 on a goal by Michael Schug at 33 seconds in the third period, and Wellington got as close as 4-2 when Erick Delaurentis scored 1:39 into the third period.

The Voyageurs evened the best of five series at 2-2 and forced a deciding game five.

Kingston was led by Casey Cook, who registered one goal. Cook scored 15:31 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kingston. Brian Nanne provided the assist.

The Voyageurs' offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 41 shots put on the Dukes' net.

Kingston additionally got points from Schug, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Kyle Wilhelm, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Kingston got a goal from Brandon O Quinn as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Graham Yeo and Steve McParland, who each chipped in one.

Wellington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Kingston was unable to stop the Dukes from sending pucks towards the net, and Wellington eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

David Pratt also scored for Wellington. In addition, Wellington received assists from Josh Gervais, Cam Yuill, and Guillaume Naud, who contributed one each.

The Voyageurs' Charlie Finn stopped 38 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Kingston incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tyler Marble turned away 37 pucks between the pipes for the Dukes. Wellington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
