Doyon leads Indiana Jr Ice 16U over New Jersey Jr Titans 16U, 4-1

Behind a great game by Drew Doyon, who had two goals and one assist, Indiana Jr Ice 16U defeated New Jersey Jr Titans 16U, 4-1.

Doyon scored on the power play at 6:31 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Indiana Jr Ice 16U and again while short handed 16:23 into the second to make the score 3-0 Indiana Jr Ice 16U.

New Jersey Jr Titans 16U was stymied by Indiana Jr Ice 16U netminder Chase Munroe, who stopped 40 shots during the victory. Despite the solid performance, Munroe will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.59 entering the contest.

Indiana Jr Ice 16U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Indiana Jr Ice 16U kept New Jersey Jr Titans 16U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Joseph Licata made 34 saves on 38 shots.

Indiana Jr Ice 16U also got points from Joseph Chitwood, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Indiana Jr Ice 16U got a goal from Ryan Cason as well. Other players who recorded assists for Indiana Jr Ice 16U were Grant Hutton, Jason Tackett, and Evan Okeley, who contributed one each.

New Jersey Jr Titans 16U forced Indiana Jr Ice 16U goalie Munroe to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. New Jersey Jr Titans 16U had trouble staying out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 43 penalty minutes for 19 opposing power plays. The leading offender was Trevor Heuser, who totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with one major and a game misconduct.

New Jersey Jr Titans 16U was led by Joshua Suboyu, who scored the team's only goal. Suboyu scored 11:31 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Indiana Jr Ice 16U. Colin Kirkpatrick provided the assist.

Indiana Jr Ice 16U incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. New Jersey Jr Titans 16U ran into disciplinary problems during the contest, and Heuser was ejected from the game.
