Folin's big game bests South in 7-4 Central win

Christian Folin was all over the ice for Central, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Central's 7-4 win over South.

Folin beat Peter Traber with a shot 17:56 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Central. Daniel Zawacki assisted on the tally. Folin dished an assist on Brandon Wahlin's goal that made the score 1-1 at 1:11 into the second period. He added another helper on Zawacki's goal that made the score 3-3 at 6:26 into the third period.

Central also got points from Evan Johnston, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Zawacki, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Nick DAvolio, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Francis DeAugustine, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jadin Martin also scored for Central. In addition, Central received assists from Charlie Aus, Lane Mahoney, Cory Ward, and Adam Chapie, who each chipped in one.

South forced Central's goaltenders to work in net, racking up 32 shots and forcing 28 saves. Tommy Burke made 15 stops and Tyler Bruggeman made 13.

South was helped by Josh Obregon, who grabbed one goal. Obregon scored 16:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 South. Taylor Herndon provided the assist. South got a goal from Mikko Virtanen as well. More assists for South came via Nick Neville, who had two and Perry DArrisso, Beau Walker, and Jake Lynes, who contributed one each.

Central incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Peter Traber took the loss and made 14 saves before being replaced by Gregg Gruehl who made nine saves. South finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-2 with the man advantage.
