Toronto survives Burlington comeback, wins 3-2George Bell Arena Sat, Mar 03, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Toronto survived a determined comeback attempt by Burlington on the way to a 3-2 win. A goal by Mallory Deluce put Toronto up 3-1 in the third period, but Burlington pulled to within one on Jana Harrigan's tally 19:26 into the third period. Deluce was all over the ice for Toronto, as she racked up two goals in the win. Toronto put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Burlington to score on any of its seven power plays. Toronto could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game. Lexie Hoffmeyer also scored for Toronto. More assists for Toronto came via Meagan Aarts, Jess Scanzano, Brooke Beazer, Kori Cheverie, and Rebecca Davies, who contributed one a piece. Burlington also got a goal from Samantha Shirley as well. In addition, Burlington received assists from Laura Grant, Lindsay Vine, and Shannon Moulson, who each chipped in one. Toronto registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Burlington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
