Huge game by Busse boosts St. Louis over Indianapolis, 8-2

Nicholas Busse was all over the ice for the St. Louis Frontenacs, as he tallied two goals and two assists in St. Louis' 8-2 win over the Indianapolis Inferno.

Busse scored at 14:07 into the first period to make the score 3-0 St. Louis and again while 9:24 into the second to make the score 7-0 St. Louis.

The Frontenacs were often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. St. Louis surpassed its season average of 31 penalty minutes per game. The Frontenacs made Indianapolis' goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 59 shots and forcing 51 saves. James Maher made 27 stops and Brandon Loera made 24. St. Louis excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Frontenacs' goal total was higher than their season average. St. Louis has scored at the pace of three goals per game during the current campaign.

St. Louis also got points from Michael Pavolka, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Timothy Livingston, who also registered two goals and three assists, and Busse, who also grabbed two goals and two assists. Ryan Edwards also scored for St. Louis. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis were Michael Cobb, who had one and Brendan Pavia, who had two.

The Inferno were helped by Ian Hurst, who tallied one goal. Hurst scored 15:34 into the third period to make the score 8-2 St. Louis. Christian Langlois assisted on the tally. Indianapolis got a goal from Cole Kimmel as well.

Alexander Reichle recorded 17 saves for the Frontenacs. St. Louis registered one goal on one power play opportunities. Indianapolis ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
