St. Louis outlasts Indianapolis, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the St. Louis Frontenacs escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Indianapolis Inferno.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Timothy Livingston's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

St. Louis was often in penalty trouble, totaling four minors and four majors for 38 minutes in penalty time. The Frontenacs surpassed its season average of 31 penalty minutes per game. St. Louis kept Indianapolis' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Loera made 37 saves on 40 shots.

St. Louis additionally got points from Livingston, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Brendan Pavia also scored for St. Louis. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Nicholas Busse, who had two and Andrew Jarvis and Cory Brown, who each chipped in one.

The Inferno were helped by Miroslav Poner, who had two goals. Poner scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:55 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Indianapolis had taken the advantage when the Frontenacs' Livingston got sent off for tripping. Taylor Linder assisted on the tally. Poner's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Indianapolis with 19:41 left in the third period. Ian Hurst provided the assist.

St. Louis' Loren Sawyer stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Frontenacs registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. The Inferno totaled 29 minutes in penalty time with two minors and three majors and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
