AURORA penalty kill dominates in 5-2 defeat of ETOBICOKE

ETOBICOKE failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and AURORA shook off a number of penalties to win, 5-2.

AURORA was led by Caroline DeBruin(A), who registered one goal and one assist. DeBruin(A) scored 8:01 into the second period to make the score 3-1 AURORA. Brianna Veerman(A) provided the assist.

AURORA kept ETOBICOKE's goalie busy throughout the game, and Amanda Smith made 43 saves on 48 shots.

AURORA also got points from Nadia Popov, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Courtney Brindamour-McClure(A), who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Mackenzie Johnston, who also had one goal and one assist. AURORA also got a goal from Rachel Greer as well. Other players who recorded assists for AURORA were Hailey Noronha, who had one.

ETOBICOKE found itself short handed often, totaling 14 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

ETOBICOKE was helped by Megan Farrell, who had one goal. Farrell scored 10:46 into the third period to make the score 4-2 AURORA. Dana Fairbarn picked up the assist. ETOBICOKE additionally got points from Giuliana Pallotta (A), who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for ETOBICOKE came via Breanne Bennett and Samantha Pui, who each chipped in one.

Claire Shaw recorded 17 saves for AURORA. AURORA incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. ETOBICOKE registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
