In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Pikes Peak Miners 16U escaped with a 4-3 victory over Texas Tornado 16U.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Ryan Solomon's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

Pikes Peak Miners 16U was led by Solomon, who racked up one goal. Solomon scored on the power play 11:16 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Pikes Peak Miners 16U. A high sticking penalty on Connor Bebb had put Pikes Peak Miners 16U on the power play.

In a losing effort, Texas Tornado 16U was paced by Bebb, who registered one goal and two assists. Bebb scored 8:19 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Mason Weis provided the assist.

Pikes Peak Miners 16U forced Texas Tornado 16U's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 41 shots and forcing 37 saves. Rutger Kesling made 21 stops and Jay Harrington made 16.
