Higgins nets hat trick, leads Green Mountain Glades to 10-0 win over CD Selects

Tipper Higgins netted a hat trick to lead the Green Mountain Glades Glades over the CD Selects Selects Minor B, 10-0.

Higgins notched his first tally 3:08 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:32 into the first and at 11:26 into the third.

Green Mountain Glades scored early and often, and held a 4-0 advantage after the first 20 minutes of play.

The Glades forced CD Selects' goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 55 shots and forcing 45 saves. Cody Johnson made 13 stops and Matthew McLaughlin made 32. Green Mountain Glades put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Selects Minor B to score on any of their three power plays. The Glades featured an improved defense during the game. Green Mountain Glades allows two goals per game. The Glades' goal total was higher than their season average. Green Mountain Glades averages four goals per game.

Green Mountain Glades additionally got points from Haralds Egle, who also racked up one goal and four assists, Seth Adams, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Ryan Bray, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Eric Knoppel, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Higgins, who also racked up three goals and one assist, and Colby Laperle, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Green Mountain Glades got a goal from Joshua Bell as well. In addition, Green Mountain Glades received assists from Niles Owen and Liam Slyne, who each chipped in one and Zachary Bakotic, Victor Ivarsson, and Anthony Galloway, who contributed two each.

CD Selects did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Selects Minor B put an average of three pucks into the net per game.

Brandon Bechard made 20 saves for the Glades on 20 shots. Green Mountain Glades incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. CD Selects incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
