Behind a great game by Peter Vasaturo, who had one goal and two assists, the Maksymum Junior Hockey (Rochester) defeated the Buffalo Stars Stars, 5-2. Vasaturo beat Thomas Schenkel with a shot 14:00 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Maksymum. Justin Simonelli picked up the assist. Vasaturo dished an assist on Conlan Keenan's goal that made the score 2-0 Maksymum at 11:20 into the first period. He added another helper on Eli Gobrecht's goal that made the score 5-2 Maksymum at 15:27 into the third period.Maksymum pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes. The Junior Hockey (Rochester) forced Buffalo Stars goalie Schenkel to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Maksymum additionally got points from Gobrecht, who also had two goals and one assist and Vasaturo, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Maksymum got a goal from Matt Meredith as well. In addition, Maksymum received assists from Kevin DiMagno, who had two and Mikel Williams and Tyler Gmerek, who contributed one each. The Stars were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to one goal off of nine man advantages. Buffalo Stars was helped by Christopher Moses, who grabbed one goal. Moses scored 10:51 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Maksymum. Brian Ruff assisted on the tally. Robert Finn also scored for Buffalo Stars. More assists for Buffalo Stars came via Kevin Mackrell, who had one and Luke Swimline, who had two. Maksymum's Jake Bryniarski stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Junior Hockey (Rochester) registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Schenkel turned away 31 pucks between the pipes for the Stars. Buffalo Stars incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
