NY AppleCore survives Jersey Hitmen comeback, wins 3-2

Jersey Hitmen tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but the NY AppleCore Applecore Minor B held on for a 3-2 victory.

NY AppleCore took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have Jersey Hitmen storm back on a Matthew DaSilva goal 17:42 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Applecore Minor B were led by Michael Dellatto, who racked up one goal and one assist. Dellatto scored 3:20 into the third period to make the score NY AppleCore. Nolan Pues provided the assist.

NY AppleCore stifled Jersey Hitmen's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Applecore Minor B forced Jersey Hitmen goalie Jordan Hulahan to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

NY AppleCore's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Jersey Hitmen power plays.

NY AppleCore got a goal from Ryan Cheng as well. Other players who recorded assists for NY AppleCore were Michael Conslato, Yuriy Sokayev, and Matthew Bavaro, who each chipped in one.
