McCarran nets hat trick, leads New Hampshire Jr Monarchs to 11-1 win over Springfield Pics

Teddy McCarran netted a hat trick to lead New Hampshire Jr Monarchs over the Springfield Pics Pics, 11-1.

McCarran's first goal came 19:59 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:44 into the second and at 12:31 into the second.

The referees were busy during the game, as 18 penalties were assessed during the course of the contest.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs made Pics' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 45 shots and forcing 34 saves. Andrew DePuy made 25 stops and Evan Moorehouse made nine. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs stifled Springfield Pics' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs' goal total was higher than its season average. Other players who recorded assists for New Hampshire Jr Monarchs were Dylan Rothenberger, who had two, Daniel Avelanet, who had three, and Eric Grover, Luke Bennett, Ty Anderson, and Christopher Moquin, who contributed one each.

The Pics could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Springfield Pics averages four goals per game. The Pics could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Andrew Provost, who totaled 12 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one misconduct.

Springfield Pics was led by Jeremy Wich, who scored the team's only goal. Wich scored 15:25 into the second period to make the score 7-1 New Hampshire Jr Monarchs. Christopher Sattler provided the assist.

Dylan Palmer recorded 18 saves for New Hampshire Jr Monarchs. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. The Pics registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
