Jersey Hitmen vanquishes Green Mountain Glades in shootout, 4-3 (3-2 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Jersey Hitmen defeated the Green Mountain Glades Glades in a shootout 4-3 (3-2 SO).

The shootout lasted for 10 attempts between the teams. Green Mountain Glades' shootout goals were scored by Haralds Egle and Tipper Higgins. In addition to the clincher, Jersey Hitmen got shootout goals from Robby Marsanico and James Martello.

Jersey Hitmen was sparked by Brendan Calello, who racked up one goal and one assist. Calello scored 14:58 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Jersey Hitmen. Martello assisted on the tally.

In the losing effort, the Glades were paced by Ryan Bray, who registered one goal and two assists. Bray scored on the power play 15:12 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Jersey Hitmen. Green Mountain Glades had gained a power play chance when Justin McKenzie was whistled for hooking. Egle picked up the assist.

Jersey Hitmen found itself short handed often, totaling 14 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays. The leading offender was Cody Calcagno, who totaled four minutes in penalty time with two minors.

Jersey Hitmen also got points from Martello, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Calello, who also had one goal and one assist. Jersey Hitmen got a goal from Devon Duarte as well. Other players who recorded assists for Jersey Hitmen were Matthew DaSilva, who had one and John Redgate, who had two.

The Glades forced Jersey Hitmen goalie Matthew Braun to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

Green Mountain Glades additionally got points from Bray, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Eric Knoppel, who also registered one goal and one assist. Anthony Galloway also scored for Green Mountain Glades. In addition, Green Mountain Glades received assists from Seth Adams, who had one.

Braun turned away 46 pucks between the pipes for Jersey Hitmen. Jersey Hitmen registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Brandon Bechard recorded 26 saves for Green Mountain Glades. The Glades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
