Abshear's big game bests Space Coast Hurricanes in 9-0 Hampton Roads Whalers win

Ryan Abshear was all over the ice for Hampton Roads Whalers, as he tallied one goal and four assists in Hampton Roads Whalers' 9-0 win over Space Coast Hurricanes.

Abshear got on the board by slotting home a goal 1:35 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Hampton Roads Whalers. Alphee Herion provided the assist. Abshear dished an assist on Nicholas Kujawa's goal that made the score 4-0 Hampton Roads Whalers at 9:21 into the second period. He then added assists on Herion's goal at 15:36 into the second, on Herion's goal at 19:05 into the second, and on Timothy Zaremski's goal at 19:51 into the second.

Space Coast Hurricanes' power play was ineffective against Hampton Roads Whalers' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Both teams had a hard time staying out of the box, and they combined for 25 penalties during the game.

Hampton Roads Whalers racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 11 minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time.
