New York Apple Core and Brewster Bulldogs skate to 4-4 tie

New York Apple Core and Brewster Bulldogs could not settle their match and fought to a 4-4 tie.

New York Apple Core forced Brewster Bulldogs goalie Brandon Belz to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. New York Apple Core was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play.

New York Apple Core was helped by Joseph Quinn, who racked up one goal and one assist. Quinn scored 18:51 into the first period to make the score 2-0 New York Apple Core. Benjamin Sorkin picked up the assist. New York Apple Core also got points from Quinn, who also registered one goal and one assist. Derek Caruso also scored for New York Apple Core. More assists for New York Apple Core came via Eric Krupka, Bennett ODonnell, Michael Rodriguez, Brian Hurley, and James Loglisci, who each chipped in one.

Brewster Bulldogs' offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 51 shots put on New York Apple Core's net.

Brewster Bulldogs was led by Michael Benincasa, who had two goals. Benincasa scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:54 into the second period to make the score 2-1 New York Apple Core. Brewster Bulldogs had gotten the advantage when New York Apple Core's ODonnell was sent off for roughing. Sean Henderson provided the assist. Benincasa's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 8:05 left in the second period. Brewster Bulldogs earned a power play opportunity when Loglisci was put in the box for cross checking. Henderson picked up the assist. Brewster Bulldogs got a goal from Taylor Folchetti as well. In addition, Brewster Bulldogs received assists from Eric Staropoli, Richard Folchetti, and Ryan Harker, who contributed one each.

Mark Zapson turned away 47 pucks between the pipes for New York Apple Core. New York Apple Core incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Belz recorded 34 saves for Brewster Bulldogs. Brewster Bulldogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
