Huge game by Stemke boosts Suffolk Juniors over Potomac Patriots, 10-4

Behind a great game by Chris Stemke, who had four goals and two assists, Suffolk Juniors defeated Potomac Patriots, 10-4.

Stemke got on the scoresheet 10:37 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:06 into the first, at 45 seconds into the second, and at 9:07 into the second.

Suffolk Juniors' penalty kill excelled, as Suffolk Juniors gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Suffolk Juniors forced Potomac Patriots' goalies to work in net, firing 34 shots and forcing 24 saves. Patrick Anderson made 12 stops and TJ Hollen made 12. Suffolk Juniors outdid its season average for goals scored. Suffolk Juniors averages five goals per game. Suffolk Juniors' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Suffolk Juniors finished with 20 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Casey OLeary, who totaled six minutes in penalty time with three minors.

Suffolk Juniors also got points from Cameron Smith, who also had one goal and one assist, Stemke, who also finished with four goals and two assists, Alex Posillico, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Daniel Lore, who also registered two goals and four assists, and Brett Kaiser, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Suffolk Juniors got a goal from Anthony Modica as well. In addition, Suffolk Juniors received assists from Brian Kesler, who had three and Nicholas Ambery, Christian Habberstad, and Todd Scarola, who contributed one each.

Potomac Patriots made Suffolk Juniors' netminders to work between the pipes, totaling 34 shots and forcing 30 saves. Scarola made 13 stops and Hunter Tetreault made 17. Potomac Patriots' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Suffolk Juniors power plays. Potomac Patriots got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Potomac Patriots was helped by Alexander Mandeville, who finished with two goals. Mandeville scored the first of his two goals short handed at 8:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Potomac Patriots. Potomac Patriots found itself down a man on Remi Paine's roughing. Miles Miller assisted on the tally. Mandeville's next tally short handed made the score 4-2 Suffolk Juniors with two seconds left in the first period. Miller picked up the assist. Potomac Patriots additionally got points from Miller, who also had one goal and two assists. Hunter Valenzuela also scored for Potomac Patriots. More assists for Potomac Patriots came via Logan Nasr, who had two and Judd Parker and Jeffery Egan, who each chipped in one.

Potomac Patriots incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
