Junior Bruins outlasts Mass Maple Leafs, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Junior Bruins escaped with a 4-2 victory over Mass Maple Leafs.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Michael Pirovano secured the win for Junior Bruins with a goal in the second period.

Junior Bruins excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Junior Bruins' offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 53 shots put on Mass Maple Leafs' net.

Junior Bruins additionally got points from Pirovano, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Luke Prendergast also scored for Junior Bruins. Other players who recorded assists for Junior Bruins were Hayden Voss, who had three and Steve Iacaboni, Gabe Lamontagne, and Nolan Hamilton, who contributed one each.

Mass Maple Leafs could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Mass Maple Leafs averages six goals per game. Mass Maple Leafs kept Junior Bruins' goalie busy throughout the game, and Shane Benjamin made 49 saves on 51 shots.

Mass Maple Leafs was helped by Steven Hole, who registered two goals. Hole scored the first of his two goals at 3:19 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Edward Botelho provided the assist. Hole's next tally made the score 2-1 Mass Maple Leafs with 12:11 left in the second period. Craig Parry assisted on the tally.
