Fernandes lifts Mass Maple Leafs over New York Apple Core, 4-1

Behind a great game by Joseph Fernandes, who had two goals, Mass Maple Leafs defeated New York Apple Core, 4-1.

Fernandes found the back of the net 2:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mass Maple Leafs and again while 17:39 into the second to make the score 3-1 Mass Maple Leafs.

New York Apple Core threw everything it had at Mass Maple Leafs' Cody Stocker, but he responded by making 18 saves to secure the win.

Mass Maple Leafs' penalty kill excelled, as Mass Maple Leafs gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Mass Maple Leafs stifled New York Apple Core's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Mass Maple Leafs was held below its usual level of production. Mass Maple Leafs puts an average of six pucks into the net per game.

Ian Maisonneuve also scored for Mass Maple Leafs. More assists for Mass Maple Leafs came via Tyler Person, Brandon Person, and Sidney Thomas, who contributed one each.

New York Apple Core put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mass Maple Leafs to score on any of its four power plays. New York Apple Core's offense operated below it season average. New York Apple Core averages four goals per game. New York Apple Core was led by Joseph Quinn, who scored the team's only goal. Quinn scored 12:42 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Mass Maple Leafs. Dillon Radin assisted on the tally.
