Helena beats Great Falls 12-1 as Campe gets hat trick

Great Falls could not stop Helena's Theo Campe, who tallied a hat trick in a 12-1 win.

Campe notched his first tally 1:03 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:47 into the second and at 18:44 into the second.

Helena led by only one goal at the end of the first period, but put the game away by scoring six goals in the second.

Great Falls' 11 penalties came back to haunt it, as Great Falls let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Helena excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 11 chances. Helena forced Great Falls goalie Riley Poe to work between the pipes, taking 57 shots. Helena got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Helena also got points from Ben Henne, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Brandon Rumble, who also tallied two goals and one assist, Alex DeWitz, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Drew Ingram, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Danny Fazio, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Trevor Tracy, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Helena also got a goal from Beau Ricketts as well. In addition, Helena received assists from Wyatt Winfield, who had one and Mason Wade, Devin Smith, Cody Blom, Balasz Goz, Trey Flesch, and William Kapp, who contributed two a piece.

Jason Wrbelis also scored for Great Falls. Other players who recorded assists for Great Falls were Connor Barta, who had one.

Flesch recorded 18 saves for Helena. Helena ended with 27 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors and one major. Riley Poe made 45 saves for Great Falls on 57 shots. Great Falls ended with 45 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors and one major. For Great Falls, Jaret Retterath was ejected from the game.
