Billings falls to Gillette after surprising comeback

Gillette climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat Billings, 4-3.

Gillette never led in the game until netting the game winner. Gillette was down 3-0 after a power play goal by Billings' Nikolas Nasby at 8:01 in the second period. Gillette knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Adam Pecht at 6:50 in the third period. Gillette netted the game winner at 14:02 in the third period on a goal by Pecht.

Gillette was led by Stanislav Izvekov, who registered one goal and one assist.

Gillette was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of 10 man advantages.

Gillette additionally got points from Matt Rose, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Jason Forney also scored for Gillette. In addition, Gillette received assists from John Burke, who had one.

Gillette was unable to stop Billings from sending pucks towards the net, and Billings eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Billings was helped by Jarret Stark, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Stark scored on the power play 10:10 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Billings. Billings earned a power play opportunity when Pecht was put in the box for slashing. Ryan Thompson assisted on the tally. Billings also got points from Paul Hoffman, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Billings were Joey Ullmann, who had one.

Nick Vittori made 32 saves for Gillette on 35 shots. Gillette ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors and one major. Nic Wackerly rejected 26 shots on goal for Billings. Billings totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors and one major and went 3-for-9 on the power play.
