Nic Wackerly had a standout game with 36 saves, and Billings beat Bozeman 3-1. Billings was sparked by Ryan Thompson, who had one goal and one assist. Thompson scored 17:42 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Billings. Paul Hoffman picked up the assist. Billings' offense rang up 32 shots on Bozeman's net. Billings was hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Billings was shut out on the power play, going scoring scoreless on nine chances with a man advantage. Billings also got a goal from Daniel Chang as well. In addition, Billings received assists from Sawyer Jacobson, who had one. Bozeman stifled Billings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Bozeman's offense rang up 37 shots on Billings' net. Bozeman's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Bozeman finished with 18 penalty minutes. Bozeman was led by Zane Barragree, who scored the team's only goal. Barragree scored on the power play 13:18 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Bozeman earned a power play opportunity when Chang was put in the box for kneeing. Matt Kramer assisted on the tally. Robert Meadows rejected 29 shots on goal for Bozeman. Bozeman registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
