Gillette beats Great Falls 9-1 as Izvekov gets hat trick

Stanislav Izvekov netted a hat trick to lead Gillette over Great Falls, 9-1.

Izvekov got on the scoresheet 9:04 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:14 into the second and at 7:52 into the second.

Great Falls was stymied by Gillette netminder Nick Vittori, who stopped 34 shots during the victory. Vittori managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.12 prior to the game.

Gillette excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Gillette kept Great Falls' goalie busy throughout the game, and Riley Poe made 43 saves on 52 shots.

Great Falls was led by Aaron Rio, who scored the team's only goal. Rio scored 2:55 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Gillette. Trent Carter assisted on the tally.
