Cody Blom gave Helena the lead in the first period, and Bozeman was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 3-1.

A goal 2:57 into the the first period by Blom proved to be the game winner, and powered Helena to the victory Balasz Goz provided the assist.

Bozeman was stymied by Helena netminder Trey Flesch, who stopped 26 shots during the victory. Flesch managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.89 prior to the game.

Helena was paced by Theo Campe, who racked up one goal and one assist. Campe scored 8:42 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Helena. Thomas Emery assisted on the tally.

Helena forced Bozeman goalie Jordan Lehr to work between the pipes, taking 61 shots.

Beau Ricketts also scored for Helena. Other players who recorded assists for Helena were Levi Blom, Devin Smith, and Tyler Narsing, who each chipped in one.

Bozeman excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Bozeman could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Colin Perley, who totaled four minutes in penalty time with two minors.

Bozeman was led by Garrett Guthrie, who scored the team's only goal. Guthrie scored on the power play 11:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Helena. Bozeman had taken the advantage when Helena's Blom got sent off for holding. Brady Hefner picked up the assist.

Helena incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Lehr turned away 58 pucks between the pipes for Bozeman. Bozeman registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
