Badner's goals lift Traverse City to 6-1 victory over Jamestown

Behind a great game by Will Badner, who had four goals, the Traverse City North Stars defeated the Jamestown Ironmen, 6-1.

Badner got on the scoresheet 1:04 into the second period. He then added goals at 14:02 into the second, at 18:05 into the second, and at 3:47 into the third.

Traverse City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The North Stars' offense was clicking better than usual and put 25 shots on goal during the game, better than the 22.5 shots per game they average. Traverse City outdid its season average for goals scored. The North Stars have scored at the pace of 3.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

Kyle Schempp also scored for Traverse City. More assists for Traverse City came via Frank Gilbert, Seth Adams, Alexander Taulien, and Chris Waterstreet, who each chipped in one and Chris Leibinger and Nathan Harris, who contributed two a piece.

Jamestown was led by Blake Kelley, who scored the team's only goal. Kelley scored 3:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jamestown. Aaron Arm picked up the assist.

Zach Nagelvoort recorded 19 saves for Traverse City. The North Stars incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Ironmen's Joe Gladnick stopped 19 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Jamestown incurred 40 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Ironmen ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Michael Zagari was ejected from the game.
