The Springfield Jr. Blues' Josef Pontasch scored 1:24 into overtime to beat the Janesville Jets, 3-2 (OT).

Pontasch was all over the ice for Springfield, as he had two goals in the win.

The Jr. Blues' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Janesville power plays.

Brett Skibba also scored for Springfield. Other players who recorded assists for Springfield were Paul Byrne, Ben Kramer, Kyle Cook, Gavin Tufte, and Chris Sitler, who each chipped in one.

Janesville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

The Jets were helped by Darren McCormick, who registered one goal. McCormick scored 5:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Janesville. Adam Frank assisted on the tally. Janesville also got a goal from Bryan Kronberger as well. More assists for Janesville came via John Olen and William Preston, who contributed one a piece.

Tyler Parks made 28 saves for Springfield on 30 shots. The Jr. Blues incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Nate Teuscher recorded 17 saves for Janesville. The Jets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
